As a ten-year-old, I loved reading the Scholastic Bookclub catalogues. I'd spend hours trying to figure out how many of the pretty, shiny books I could buy with my pocket money. (Who am I kidding? It's STILL one of my favourite things to do!)

Being a Children's Book Council of Australia, Book of the Year Award judge has been incredibly rewarding — both professionally and personally.
